This is the way we communicate

Actual conversation

Josh: Are you coming outside?

Billi Jo: Why?

Josh: Cuz I thought I’d show you how to use the “new” snow blower.

Actual meaning of the conversation

Josh: I have something I want you to learn.

Billi Jo: Why?

Josh: Cuz you are now in charge of snow removal.

I guess after a six year maternity leave I should have expected this…bring on the snow!

Can anyone else relate?

our conversation went like this:
me: "I am going out to shovel"
Noah: "Why? It is freezing!"
me: "because I want to get in and out of the driveway tomorrow without sliding into our ditch"
Noah: "ok"
little while later
Noah: "are you done?"
me: "no. I did half."
Noah: "too cold?"
me: "no it is this 28 weeks pregnancy thing."
Noah: "so does that mean i am on my own this winter?"

...

In his defense, he was putting the kids to bed- in the evenings I choose ANY kind of manual labor over brushing three gnashing sets of teeth.

you are lucky you got 6 years off! :) (and a snowblower to boot!)

I'm still on maternity leave when it comes to snow blowing, which we do with the four-wheeler (which wouldn't start last night, so Paul had to do it by hand, but just up by the garage where it had drifted). Anyway, a couple of years ago, I did the mowing (also on the four-wheeler) until I had a problem that comes from having children, but ladies don't talk about. Since then I've been off the mowing too. Plus, I don't give rides to the boys when I mow, so they prefer that Daddy does it! I can certainly live with that!

LOL, yep I can totally relate. Being home on a snow day, snow removal was left to me. Unfortunately, I didn't get a snow blower demo, I just had a trusty shovel! Man did my legs hurt! Probably the most exercise I've had since returning to work, so not all bad I guess! Poor Todd did have to scoop out his pick up though when snow days were done and he had to take it to work! ;)
